Description

Ghost’n Goblins C64

Ghosts ‘n Goblins on the Commodore 64 is a legendary 1986 arcade port developed by Chris Butler and published by Elite Systems. It is universally celebrated for its iconic chiptune theme music, frantic side-scrolling action, and brutal, unforgiving difficulty.
The 1986 Official Release
  • The Gameplay: Players control the knight Sir Arthur, throwing weapons and leaping across platforms to rescue Princess Prin from Satan.
  • The Armor Mechanic: Taking damage strips Arthur down to his underpants; a second hit results in death.
  • Technical Cuts: Due to the memory limitations of the C64, the game features only four or five cut-down levels rather than the original seven arcade stages.
  • The Music: Composed by Mark Cooksey, the haunting and beautifully atmospheric background track is widely considered one of the [greatest soundtracks in C64 history]
