The Sony Walkman MZ-R410 is a portable MiniDisc (MD) player/recorder known for its robust G-Protection shock resistance and long battery life using a single AA battery. It was released in 2003 and supports the MDLP long-time stereo recording modes. 
Key Features & Specifications
  • Media Support: The device uses standard MiniDiscs and supports MDLP (Long Play) mode, allowing for up to 320 minutes of stereo recording on one 80-minute disc using ATRAC3 compression. It does not support NetMD or Hi-MD formats.
  • Recording: It offers recording capabilities via digital input and line-in ports, including digital recording level control and synchronized recording functionality. It does not, however, have a microphone input. It uses ATRAC TYPE-R DSP for high-quality sound recording in SP mode.
  • Audio Enhancements: The MZ-R410 includes Sony’s G-Protection anti-skip buffer system and Digital Mega Bass for enhanced audio playback.
  • Portability & Power: The unit is compact and lightweight, weighing approximately 101g. A notable feature praised by users is its long battery life, with up to 51 hours of playback in Hi-SP mode on a single AA battery. It can also be powered by an AC adaptor.
  • Connectivity: It includes a 3.5mm headphone jack and optical input. It does not have a USB connection or come with a remote control.
