Description

Scarface Money Power Respect PSP

  • Scarface: Money. Power. Respect. is a 2006 turn-based strategy game for the PlayStation Portable (PSP) based on the 1983 film Scarface. It was developed by FarSight Studios and published by Vivendi Games. Unlike its console counterpart, the open-world action game Scarface: The World Is Yours, the PSP version is focused on managing a criminal empire and turn-based combat.
    Gameplay and plot
The game’s single-player mode is divided into two main parts:.
    • Movie Scenarios: These missions are based on events from the Scarface movie and are accompanied by movie clips to set the scene.
    • Cartel Challenges: This mode offers additional, more difficult challenges for players to complete.
The gameplay involves a three-phase, turn-based system in which you strategically expand your cartel and dominate the Miami drug scene.
    • Buy Phase: You hire pushers, armed thugs, and purchase structures like cocaine labs and warehouses.
    • Dealing Phase: You sell your drug product across Miami’s turfs, with profits based on how many pushers and labs you have.
    • Combat Phase: You can choose to either invade a rival cartel’s territory or defend your own. In turn-based combat, you can use Power Moves to gain an advantage, such as calling in reinforcements or using special weapons.
    Reviews and legacy
Upon release, the game received mixed-to-average reviews, with many critics drawing comparisons to its more popular console sibling.
    • Some reviewers found the gameplay repetitive and noted that the strategy wasn’t particularly deep.
    • Others, however, found it to be a surprisingly addictive and worthwhile strategy game that was well-suited for the PSP handheld.
    • The game is often differentiated from Scarface: The World Is Yours, which was a different genre and received a more positive reception.
