The LEGO Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer (75394) is a 1,555-piece playset that recreates the iconic Imperial capital ship from Star Wars: A New Hope. It was released on August 1, 2024, as part of the LEGO Star Wars 25th anniversary celebration.

Features and design

The set features a high level of detail for a playset-scale model and includes several play features.

  • Dimensions: The completed model measures over 16 cm high, 46 cm long, and 29 cm deep, a smaller size than previous playset versions.
  • Play features: The set includes a hidden, integrated carry handle for “flying” the ship, two spring-loaded shooters, and rotating turbolaser cannons.
  • Detailed interior: The top panel lifts off and the side panels fold out to reveal interior details. These include the bridge, a command room, an armory, and a break room.
  • Easter eggs: The interior also features screens with small details, including a screen showing a probe droid and Aurebesh text that translates to “the droids we’re looking for”.

Included minifigures

The set comes with seven LEGO Star Wars minifigures, with one celebrating the 25th anniversary of the theme.

  • Darth Vader
  • Commander Praji
  • Imperial Gunner
  • Imperial Crew Member
  • Imperial Navy Trooper
  • Stormtrooper
  • 25th Anniversary Cal Kestis: The protagonist from the Jedi: Fallen Order video game series is included as a special collectible minifigure with a display stand.

Reviews

Reviewers have praised the detailed exterior design and playability of the set.

  • The exterior is noted for being one of the best-looking playscale Star Destroyer versions to date, with a build quality comparable to some Ultimate Collector Series (UCS) models.
  • The high level of interior detail is appreciated, with specific details like the miniature holographic display receiving praise.
  • The inclusion of Cal Kestis as the 25th-anniversary minifigure has been a major point of interest for collectors.
  • Some criticisms include the set’s smaller size compared to earlier playset-scale versions and a high retail price, though the price is often considered fair when accounting for inflation and piece count. Some collectors also note the absence of Cal Kestis’ droid companion, BD-1.
