  • This is a used Sony Portable Minidisc Player MZ-NH900I have tested this and it plays and records well, tested via mains, I couldn’t get a gumstick battery to work.
  • Connected to PC and added a track ok
  • The LCD screen cover has a mark but you can see the LCD screen ok.
  • The sound volume on the right ear does seem slightly less than the left.
  • It has some scratches and scuffs from previous use.
  • No other accessories included.

The Sony MZ-NH900 is a highly capable, classic Hi-MD Walkman Portable Recorder and Player launched by Sony as a slightly more affordable, feature-packed alternative to their flagship MZ-NH1. It stands out in the MiniDisc community for balancing premium audio features with excellent on-device physical controls.

  • Hi-MD Format Support: You can store up to 45 hours of compressed music or 1 GB of data on a single Hi-MD disc, or up to 13 hours on standard legacy 80-minute MiniDiscs.
  • Two-Way PC Connectivity: Connects to a PC via standard Mini-B USB. Unlike older NetMD-only units, it allows you to upload mic or line-in recordings back to a PC as .wav files.
  • Excellent Audio Architecture: Equipped with Sony’s premium HD Digital Amplifier and a 6-band equalizer. It delivers an incredibly wide soundscape, minimal background hiss, and clear stereo separation on par with flagship units.
