Description

WWF WrestleMania 2000 Game Boy Color

WWF WrestleMania 2000 for the Game Boy Color (GBC) is a wrestling game developed by Natsume and published by THQ in 1999. It is a portable version of the Nintendo 64 game, adapted for the GBC’s hardware limitations. It features a roster of over a dozen WWF Attitude Era superstars, multiple game modes, and a two-player option via the Game Boy Link Cable.
Gameplay features
  • Grapple-focused system: The gameplay is centered around grappling, with different moves executed through context-sensitive button and D-pad combinations.
  • Signature and finishing moves: Each superstar has their own set of signature and finishing moves, which can be executed when a “bio-rhythm meter” is at its peak.
  • Two-player mode: A versus mode is available for two players using the Game Boy Link Cable.
  • Character customization: While limited compared to the N64 version, a character customization feature allows players to edit attributes.
Game modes
  • Exhibition: Standard single matches.
  • Tag Team: Single two-on-two matches.
  • Survivor Series: A one-on-one elimination style match where the last team standing wins.
  • Gauntlet: A series of consecutive matches against all other wrestlers.
  • Championship mode: Players compete to win the WWF title. The game features a story-driven element within this mode, including pre-match introductions and taunts.
  • Training mode: An optional mode where the opponent does not fight back.

Another great retro game available at Escapist Gamer – Super Mario Land 2 (Game Boy)
