Description
Sega Master System 2 Console
The Sega Master System II is a redesigned, cost-reduced version of the original Sega Master System, released in Europe and other regions in 1990.
Key features
- Built-in game: Most models of the Master System II feature a built-in game for instant play without a cartridge.
- Alex Kidd in Miracle World: This platformer is the most common built-in game.
- Sonic the Hedgehog: A less common version includes the first Sonic the Hedgehog.
- Output: The console features a low-quality RF video output, which requires tuning to an analog channel on older TVs. Unlike the original Master System, it does not support composite video, a light phaser, or 3D glasses.
- Cartridge slot: The console uses a cartridge slot with a slide-opening flap. It removed the card slot that was present on the original Master System.
- Controller: The Master System II comes with a single wired controller, which features a D-pad and two buttons.
- Design: The console has a more compact and curvy matte design than the original. It has a simple on/off switch but no reset button.
