Missile Command is a classic arcade game that was ported to the Atari 2600 in 1981. In the game, your responsibility is to protect the six cities on your planet from missiles which fall from the sky. The game has two difficulty levels —a and b. The b level is for normal game play. Level a is for the skilled Missile Command player 3.

Atari brought the game to its home systems beginning with the 1981 Atari VCS port by Rob Fulop. Numerous contemporaneous clones and modern remakes followed. Missile Command is built into the Atari XEGS released in 1987, an Atari 8-bit family computer repackaged as a game console.

Another great retro game available at Escapist Gamer – Star Ship (Atari 2600)
